Alternative Home Health Care enjoys working with a variety of community professionals. We work hard to understand your expectations and to provide solutions to you so that we all can be successful in our client relationships.
Professionals in the community have often commented that the following qualities lead them to us:
- “The company is run by its owners, one an attorney, and accountability goes right to the top”.
- “Having an attorney on staff is good, especially when the case has sensitive or unique circumstances. She understands the legal processes which can enter into Elder Care. They’re not amateurs.”
- The company believes in engaging every community resource available before relying upon private pay.
- “The company is open 7 days per week. I’m able to reach someone by phone all the time, including the owners.”
- The company accepts assignment on Long-Term Care insurance.
- “The Registered Nurses at the company are wonderful to work with. I feel like I’m working with teammates in solving complex issues.”
Sometimes professionals encounter a client situation where the family has hired an independent caregiver to work in the home. This person has likely become a trusted and loyal caregiver. It is frequent that professionals recommend that this employee become converted to an agency employee.
Reasons include: payment of all taxes (federal, state and local), workers compensation coverage, unemployment protection, employee benefits [health and 401(k)], liability insurance and dishonesty bonding. Also see, Choosing a Home Health Provider.
At Alternative we have developed a simple and streamlined method to convert the independent caregiver to become an employee of our company. Many professionals have commented that our conversion program provides them with peace of mind.
In order to convert a caregiver the following is required:
The caregiver must have:
- Documents indicating their right to work in US – drivers license, etc.
- A Home Health Aide Certificate or ability to pass our challenge exam.
- Physical and TB test in the last six months. Also, we can arrange for a physical.
- CPR card. We can refer person to CPR courses in the community.
- Demonstrated ability to pass our competency exam, and background check.
The professional or family member must provide:
- Details regarding employment, for example, desired rate of pay whether gross or take home.
- Confirm schedule and other details.
If you are interested in our conversion program, please contact our Business Manager at (877) 584-7772.
